The Vernon Chorale Celebrates 35 Years!

Founded in 1980, the Vernon Chorale remains true to its core mission of musical excellence and education. The Chorale has established a reputation of high quality performances that include traditional choral music as well as vocal jazz and contemporary a cappella. Their versatility as an ensemble allows for a wide range of programming enjoyed by Tolland and Hartford County audiences. One of the unique features of the Vernon Chorale is their Choral and Conducting Fellow programs in which young singers and aspiring conductors are provided an arena to refine their skills under the leadership of Artistic Director, Ehren Brown. Brown, who became artistic director in 2006, is proud of the Chorale’s evolving education program. “Our Fellow graduates now ably lead their own choirs in Connecticut and beyond, and we are happy to have been a part of their musical journey.”

The Chorale has blossomed into one of Vernon’s cherished treasures. They are an institution on the move with a vibrant, growing membership and exciting plans for the future. Their vision includes a professional recording, a collaborative concert with Rockville High School, and strengthening ties with the Vernon community. Brown promises both singers and audiences, “to continue to push the boundaries of what you would expect in a choral concert, and to explore unexpected styles and celebrate up-and-coming composers.”
