The Vernon Chorale provides a wonderful opportunity for fledgling conductors. Once a candidate has been selected, he or she works under the tutelage of the Artistic Director to prepare and conduct works with the Chorale for the winter and spring concerts. The Conducting Fellow also has the unique experience of planning and executing an entire program for the annual June concert. This acts as a platform for young, talented conductors to explore concert preparation and rehearsal coordination; with one-on-one time with the Chorale, the Conducting Fellow is able to build confidence and a résumé. Today, graduates of our Conducting Fellow program are teaching and performing all over the world, and some have moved into the role of Artistic Director of the Vernon Chorale.
