About Us
About Us | Auditions
The Vernon Chorale presents high-quality choral concerts three times a year, drawing its members from Greater Hartford’s community of trained musicians. Our programming covers a broad range of choral music from composers of the Renaissance to newly commissioned works. Recently performed works include Finzi’s Magnificat, Schubert’s Mass in G, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Susa’s Carols and Lullabies, Mozart’s Spätzenmesse, K.220, Martin’s Mass for Double Choir, and Howells’ Requiem. In October 2008, the ensemble performed at the fall conference of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association at Central Connecticut State University.
Established in 1980, the Vernon Chorale offers residents of Vernon and the greater Tri-Town area an opportunity to participate in a community chorus that prepares and performs a wide variety of choral music. In 2002, the chorale became officially incorporated, and is now a not-for-profit organization with bylaws, a mission statement, and a Board of Directors.
Mission Statement
The Vernon Chorale’s principal mission is to provide a forum for members to learn and refine choral singing skills and to educate audiences through the presentation of concerts of choral music, sacred and secular.
